Physical degradation of epitaxial films YBa2Cu3O7-x // SrTiO3 under long- term storage in atmosphere and as a result of corpuscular and photon irradiation under conditions of laboratory and outer space has been studied. It has been shown that under laboratory storage the kinetics of the degradation of superconductive YBa2Cu3O7-x films depends on initial crystal perfectness and oxygen concentration in lattice. There was proposed the mechanism of physical degradation consisting in losses of oxygen predominantly along block and fragment boundaries in epitaxial (001) oriented YBa2Cu3O7-x films. Oxygen depletion of grain volume is taking place by fast diffusion of oxygen along basis planes to block boundaries. In the earlier stages of degradation (during the year) it is possible to restore superconductivity characteristics of the films by VUV- irradiation in oxygen atmosphere. The possibility of application of YBa2Cu3O7-x films under outer space counditions has been supported experimentally. It was shown that the degradation rate of YBa2Cu3O7-x epitaxial films in outer space is lower in comparison with laboratory environment due to presence of atomistic oxygen of incident flow.
