The present research work is dedicated to the complex study of
peculiarities of the formation and development of the topography of
hepatis porta components within a prenatal period of human
ontogenesis. The periods of the formation of the porta hepatis and its
vascular and duct elements have been determined. The morphological
preconditions and the time of possible occurance of variants and
anomalies in the portal vein structure, as well as in proper hepatic
artery itself and extrahepatic bile-ducts, have been defined. The
dependence between the form of the liver visceral surface and the
structure and topography of the porta hepatis have been under research.
The peculiarities of structure and the variants of topography of the
porta hepatis components in fetuses and newborns have been determined.

The data obtained may serve as a morphological basis for the improvement
of current methods and elaboration of new ones of surgical treatments of
hepatic-biliary area pathology problems in newborns and children of
young age.
