It was established that disturbances of nociception, ability to maintain the vertical posture, locomotor activity, deteriorations of sleep- wakefullness cycle in the form of prevalence of slow- wave sleep over the period of wakefullness and swimming behavior which were induced via bilateral common arterii carotici clampation, were retarded by dymethylstylbestrol (DMSE) and by antioxidants- a-tokopherol and a-lipoic acid. Combined usage of DMSE and a-lipoic acid was followed by the development of more pronounced therapeutic effect. The comparative characteristics with the efficacy of MK- 801 revealed less potent activity of the last drug. The heigthening of the activity of talamo- cortical synchronizing system under condition of ischemia induction as well as the increasing of the sensitivity to the action of agonists of the excitatory amino- acids receptors- NMDA and kainic acid was described. More prononced efficacy of the combined usage of DMSE and lipoic acid was described in comparison of their separate administration was desribed under condition of seizures induced by agonists of receptors of excitatory amino acids. More pronounced susceptibility of tonic type of seizures to antiseizure action of investigated complex was established. It was shown that efficacy of DMSE+ lipic acid corresponds to the efficacy of carbamazepin, valproic acid and diazepam.
