Ivanova O.N. The prose of V.V.Nabokova at 20-30-th. A manuscript.

The dissertation is submitted for a scholar degree of Candidate of
Philology in the specialization 10.01.02 – Russian Literature. – The
Taras Shevchenko Institute of literature, National Academy of Sciences
of Ukraine, Kiev, 1999.

The manuscript is the fist attempt to analyze a Russian prose of
V.Nabokov, written in 20-30-th years, as a complete metanovel structure
with the theme “art and artist” which passes through all this creative
work, the main stages of his prose are determined. The work considers
the peculiarities of V.Nabokov’s poetic and the functions of it more
typical methods.

The paper shows the role of the play’s basis in foundation of an
author’s original world.

Special attention is paid to the figure of the hero-artist, his
modifications in different novels of 20-30-th years and also to the
system of woman’s images.

V.Nabokov’s creativity is studied in the context of the Russian and the
West-Europe literature of the fist half of the XX century, the
author-innovators place in culture of the XX century is defined.
