A profound system of concepts about a human being and the meaning of his
existence is revealed. This system is considered as the main point (the
whole) of O.Vampilov’s works’ content. The artistic conception of
personality is defined as a comprehensive correlative connection within
the system of Vampilov’s drama characters. A detailed method of such
connection is presented. On the basis of its results one can state that
there is a genetic connection between Vampilov’s theatre and Chekhov’s
tradition, die playwright’s ideals about a human being are close to
existential ones and his plays are innovatory as to the contemporary
Russian drama.
