Basing on solution of heat conductivity (of parabolic and hyperbolic
type) and thermoelasticity equations (under account for dynamic effects)
at specified edge conditions (linear temperature increase in a medium
under convective heat exchange with a surface according to Newton law,
thermal shock, radiation), the temperature and stress distribution has
been determined for ingots and bilayer systems of culindrical and
rectangular shape.
It has been established that, unlike the case of constant heat
conductivity, the power temperature dependence of heat conductivity
results in qualitative changes of the temperature and stress
distribution. The thermal stability of a disk can be estimated with a
sufficient accuracy by way of calculation, providing the data on the
material properties are full enough. The method of functional
corrections averaging provides a correct stress value for crystals
subjected to radiation heting. A thermal shock causes short-time dynamic
stresses in solids. These effects are reduced substantially at finite
heat transfer rave values. In bilayer systems subjected to severe
thermal actions, it is just the layer interface that has been
established to act as a concentrator of maximum stress.
