prediction, predestination.

All experience tended to show that man must die (J.
Galsworthy). We all must die one day … (G. Greene).
(здебільшого у формі минулого часу), have to, конструкціями be bound to
+ Inf, be certain to + Inf, словоформами inevitable, inevitably тощо.
He [the fish] is hitting the wire leader with his spear, he
thought. That was bound to come (E. Hemingway). Their marriage was to
take place at the end of the year (W. Maugham). She is certain to
become his wife (W. Maugham).

“http://www.selfknowledge.com/46842.htm” \t “_blank” I’m right. I

it. I HYPERLINK “http://www.selfknowledge.com/35321.htm” \t “_blank”
feel it. Something terrible will happen to us (W. Maugham).

It was
inevitable that she should marry: life was hard for a girl who had to
earn her own living (W. Maugham). It seems inevitable that the Chevalier
must back into your life (F. Scott Fitzgerald).

Loss
is inevitable in life; it exists universally. Diving from that height in
as little water as that, she [Stella] has got to turn like a flash the
moment she touches the water. And if she doesn’t do it right she‘s bound
to bash her head against the bottom and break her back (W. Maugham). One
has to remember how much has to be forgotten and how much has to be
learnt when for the first time one faces life (W. Maugham). You were
asking just now what was the meaning of life – go and look at those
Persian carpets, and one of these days the answer will inevitably come
to you (W. Maugham). One HYPERLINK

\t “_blank” knew that he would have to walk HYPERLINK

chancel (F. Scott Fitzgerald). The tragic thing is that not one of those

a) Бог: She was a barren woman and, even though it was clearly God’s
will that she should be childless, she could scarcely bear to look at
little children sometimes, her heart ached so – the tears rose to her
eyes and one by one, slowly, rolled down her cheeks (W. Maugham);

-he had to live through it, if only for her children (D. Steel).“Women
like that,” he said, “are bound to have history. Life will not pass them
by” (A. Christie);

That’s the cycle of
life, Taylor,” she said. “The old has to pass on before the new can come
around” (B. Kingsolver). You must lie on the bed that you have made (W.
Maugham). If you’ve made a fool of HYPERLINK
“http://www.selfknowledge.com/109331.htm” \t “_blank” yourself you
must eat humble pie (J. Galsworthy). It occurred to Dick suddenly, as it
might occur to a dying man that he had forgotten to tell where his will
was, it occurred to him also that there would be so much she would have
to be told (F. Scott Fitzgerald). He HYPERLINK
“http://www.selfknowledge.com/53006.htm” \t “_blank” knew that all
things human are transitory and therefore that it must HYPERLINK
“http://www.selfknowledge.com/15008.htm” \t “_blank” cease one day or
another (W. Maugham). If the thing was to happen, it was to happen in
this way… (E. Wharton);

Besides, he hasn’t any money. He must come back (F.
Scott Fitzgerald). He looked at the people among whom he was to live
(W. Maugham). I stand alone, bound to accept society and not unwilling,
since in return for the taxes I pay it protects me (W. Maugham);

“http://www.selfknowledge.com/46842.htm” \t “_blank” I’m right. I
HYPERLINK “http://www.selfknowledge.com/53089.htm” \t “_blank” know
it. I HYPERLINK “http://www.selfknowledge.com/35321.htm” \t “_blank”
feel it. Something terrible will happen to us (W. Maugham). I
HYPERLINK “http://www.selfknowledge.com/53006.htm” \t “_blank” knew
that in the end I must meet you (J. Galsworthy). He told HYPERLINK
“http://www.selfknowledge.com/44511.htm” \t “_blank” himself that
Mildred must have senses like anybody else, it was only a question of
HYPERLINK “http://www.selfknowledge.com/7298.htm” \t “_blank” awakening
them; he had theories about woman, the rip at heart, and HYPERLINK
“http://www.selfknowledge.com/98405.htm” \t “_blank” thought that
there must come a time with everyone when she would yield to persistence
(W. Maugham). Sooner or later he would marry some honest HYPERLINK
“http://www.selfknowledge.com/90642.htm” \t “_blank” soul in Holland,
and I HYPERLINK “http://www.selfknowledge.com/35321.htm” \t “_blank”
felt sure he would be HYPERLINK
“http://www.selfknowledge.com/42892.htm” \t “_blank” happy (W.
Maugham).

словоформа sooner or later.
Sooner or later the human HYPERLINK
“http://www.selfknowledge.com/8939.htm” \t “_blank” being in you will
yearn for the common bonds of humanity (W. Maugham). You’ve got to face
it sooner or later (H. Lee). Sooner or later you’ll be ill and tired
and old, and then you’ll crawl back into the herd (W. Maugham). After
all, it had to happen sooner or later (W. Maugham). I guess you’ll have
to look for a job, sooner or later (B. Kingsolver).

To all intents you are a Christian
still, and if there is a God in Heaven you will undoubtedly receive your
reward (W. Maugham). When you are a little older you will doubtless
learn the advantage of HYPERLINK
“http://www.selfknowledge.com/60022.htm” \t “_blank” minding your own
business (W. Maugham).
